Basic setup validation on AWS

The following checks will help verify that the TIE Server setup is functioning correctly.

Health status check

Task
  1. Log on to ePO.

  2. Select MenuServer settingsTIE Server Topology Management.

  3. Check that there are no warnings or errors for both Primary and Secondary Servers in any of the health status fields.

DXL or ENS connectivity

The DXL or ENS connectivity check ensures that the TIE Server is connected to the DXL fabric, receiving file reputation requests, and that the ENS is communicating properly with the TIE Server.

Before you begin

Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS), Threat Protection (TP) and Adaptive Threat Protection (ATP) need to be installed on the endpoint machine.



Task
  1. Restart the endpoint machine.

  2. Log on to ePO.

  3. Select MenuSystem Tree.

  4. Select the endpoint system.

  5. Click ActionsTIEShow files used on the system.

  6. Ensure that the table of files used on the system is not empty.

GTI connectivity

You need to check the GTI connectivity to ensure that the TIE Server can retrieve the GTI reputation for a file.

Task
  1. Log on to ePO.

  2. Select MenuSystemsTIE Reputation.

  3. Check that the files listed have a GTI reputation in the GTI Reputation column.

  4. Select any file in the TIE Reputations page.

  5. In the Reputation section, note the timestamp in the GTI Reputation Last Refresh.

  6. Select ActionsRefresh GTI Reputation.

  7. Once the GTI Reputation refresh completes, 'GTI Reputation Last Refresh' should show the updated timestamp.

Dashboards and reporting

Check the dashboard to verify that the TIE Server reporting dashboards are displaying information correctly.

Task
  1. Log on to ePO.

  2. Select MenuDashboards.

  3. Select the TIE Server Files dashboard.

  4. Check that the dashboards are displaying information and that no errors are shown.
