You must create an agent package before you can deploy the macOS agent to your macOS endpoints using JAMF. This section describes how to capture, create, and install the macOS agent installation package using JAMF.
Creating the source package
JAMF Composer allows you to create software packages to meet your deployment requirements. This section describes how to create the source package for your Endpoint Security Agent (HX) software deployment using JAMF Composer.
Launch the JAMF Composer and click New.
Click Normal Snapshot to capture a snapshot of your system before and after the installation. Click Next.

Enter a name in the Package Name field for the agent package you are capturing. The example below shows

Click Next. The system creates a snapshot of your system before any further processing occurs. When the snapshot is complete, the following screen appears:

Open the agent installation file by double-clicking the
.dmgfile you downloaded.Create a temporary folder and copy the contents of the
.dmgfile in to the folder. In the example below, the.dmgfile contents were copied to aFireEyefolder that resides in theDownloadsdirectory..jpg)
Click the Create Package Source button in Composer and select the xAgent package source name in the left pane.
Creating new directories for file copying
You need to create new directories and copy the xAgent source package in to your new directory.
In the right pane, delete any directories or files.
Create a new directory called
Libraryand create a new directory underLibrarycalledApplication Support..png)
Right-click in the right pane and select Create new directories from the drop-down menu.
In the Finder, copy the entire folder that you created in Creating the source package to the
Application Supportdirectory in Composer. The screen will look similar to this:.png)
Building the package for deployment
The .pkg file you create in this section will be used to deploy the Endpoint Security Agent (HX) software to all of your macOS endpoints enrolled in JAMF.
Click the Build as PKG button at the top of the Composer screen.
Save the .pkg file to a location on your Endpoint Security (HX) server system.
