After installing or upgrading the Trellix Endpoint Security (HX) xAgent software on your host endpoints, you can use a password protection policy to keep your agents secure. The Removal Protection Password prevents unauthorized removal of the agent software from endpoints in your enterprise by requiring users to enter a password before uninstalling the xAgent software.

Trellix Endpoint Security (HX) xAgents version 26 or later support the Removal Protection Password for Windows endpoints only.
Important
Trellix Endpoint Security (HX) xAgent protection is disabled if Trend Micro AV is running.
You can configure the Removal Protection Password using the Web UI or the API. You can also create a custom policy that excludes selected host sets from the agent uninstall password protection policy. See Excluding Host Sets from the Removal Protection Policy for more information.
