This command sets the maximum number of days a bounced email can stay in the queues before it is purged. The timer begins when the Email Security — Server appliance receives the email. The default value is 5 days. Soft bounce must be enabled for this configuration to take effect.
Syntax
email-analysis mta max-bounced-lifetime <days>
Parameters
[no]
Sets the bounced queue timer to the default value of 5 days.
<days>
The number of days a bounced email can stay in the queues (both bounced queue and deferred queue). The range is from 1 to 28.
Examples
The following example restores the default value for the number of days an email can remain in the queues before it is purged.
hostname (config) # no email-analysis mta max-bounced-lifetime
The following example sets 15 days as the length of time a bounced email can remain in the queues before it is purged.
hostname (config) # email-analysis mta max-bounced-lifetime 15
