Embedding host sets in a host group for a standard set

Prev Next

Use the information and instructions in this topic to embed an existing host set in a host group that is included in a standard host set.

Important

Embedding more than 10 host sets can affect system performance. Trellix recommends that you avoid embedding more than 10 sets in a host set.

To create a standard set that embeds a host set in one of its host groups:
  1. Log in to the Endpoint Security (HX) Web UI.

  2. On the Manage Hosts menu, select Host Sets.

  3. Hover over the Create host set button, and select Using set builder.

The Create Host Set: Set Builder page appears.

  4. In the Filters pane, select SAVED HOST SETS.

A list of existing static and standard host sets appears in the pane.

  5. Select a host set from the Filter Criteria pane.

The Set Navigator circle shows the hosts that match the selections you made.

  6. Drag the Set Navigator circle to the Result Set circle in the Set Visualizer.

You have now created a standard set that includes an embedded host set.

  7. Define more host groups using the filters in the Filters and Filter Criteria panes. You can even embed another host set. Drag the Set Navigator circle to the Set Visualizer each time to add another host group to the standard set.

For additional information about filters and filter expressions, see Creating a standard set using filters and Creating a standard set using filter expressions.

  8. When you have finished adding host groups to the standard set, specify the relationships between them in the Set Visualizer. For more information, see Manipulating relations between host groups in a standard set.

  9. Enter a name in the Set Name box, and then click Create.

The standard set, containing one or more embedded host sets, is created. If a host set is embedded in another host set, then an asterisk (*) is displayed after its name on the Host Sets page.
