This document provides an overview of the new features, resolved issues, and known issues in the FireEye Endpoint Security Process Guard 1.7.0 release.
FireEye Customer Security Best Practices
Because our quality assurance process includes continuous security testing, FireEye recommends updating all FireEye products with the latest releases as soon as possible. As an overall strategy to reduce risk exposure, customers are also encouraged to follow best practices, which include:
- Always keep the product version up-to-date.
- Limit network access to the management interfaces of the appliance using firewalls or similar measures.
- Only issue accounts to trusted administrators.
- Use strong passwords.
- Monitor logs.
- Restrict physical access to the appliance to trusted administrators.
Process Guard Module Upgrade Considerations
This release of the Process Guard Module is supported on Endpoint Security 5.0.0 with Endpoint Agent 32.30.10 running on Windows. The Module is supported only on the Windows platform.
Note
FireEye does not recommend installing the Process Guard Module on Endpoint Security 4.9.x, or enabling the feature on Endpoint Security Agent 32.30.0 or earlier. This is not a supported scenario.
FireEye recommends that you always perform a complete backup of your server before you upgrade it. This ensures that you can recover your Endpoint Security Server if a problem occurs during the upgrade. Upgrading the Process Guard Module
Use the Endpoint Security Module Administration page to upgrade the Process Guard Module. No changes in configuration or in policy are required after the upgrade. For more information, see the Endpoint Security Process Guard Module Guide.

This section describes the product compatibility for Endpoint Security Process Guard Module 1.7.0 release. This release is compatible with the following FireEye product versions:

Note
You must update Agent 32.0 to Agent MR 32.30.10 release.
Important
FireEye recommends that you upgrade and deploy your Endpoint Security Server software before you upgrade and deploy your Endpoint Security Agent software.

Fixed Process Guard Issues
The following issues were resolved in the Endpoint Security Process Guard 1.7.0 release.
Note
The relevant issue tracking numbers for each item are included in parentheses.
- In the Web UI, Process Guard MD5 sum was reporting all zeros. This issue has been resolved. (ENDPT-99212)
- Process Guard alerts were getting displayed on the Alerts page when "Enable Alerts For Process Guard Events" was disabled and "Enrichment" was enabled. This issue has been resolved. (ENDPT-101570, ENDPT-95924)
