Trellix Endpoint Security Storage Protection 2.3.0 release introduces new features and capabilities.

This release supports:

  • Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - On-prem — 5.9.x or 5.10.x

  • Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - SaaS

  • Trellix Agent — 5.6.x or later

Updated platform, environment, or operating system support

This release extends support to these platforms, environments, or operating systems:

  • Platform or operating system — Win 2K12R2, 2K16, 2K19, 2K22 Server

  • Environment — Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator - On-prem, Trellix ePO - SaaS, and Self-managed

New features and changes

The release provides support for these features:

  • Rebranding changes

    This is solely for informational purpose, there is no action needed. You can continue to secure your organization with Trellix Endpoint Security Storage Protection.

    You notice the following changes in the software:

    • Product Name - McAfee Endpoint Security Storage Protection is renamed to Trellix Endpoint Security Storage Protection. All features, default policies, and options are renamed.

    • Brand logo - McAfee logo is replaced with Trellix logo.

    • User interface - Color and typeface are updated and provides better user experience.

    • Copyright - Copyright is updated according to legal requirements.

    As part of rebranding, the certificates used to sign our software have been updated. If your enterprise automatically updates root certificates, the software update/installation does not require any additional effort. However, if your enterprise manages root certificate updates manually, you need to install the new intermediate and root certificates.

Upgrade support

You can install Trellix Endpoint Security Storage Protection 2.3.x as a fresh installation or upgrade to it from the releases listed below:

  • Trellix Endpoint Security Storage Protection 2.0.0, 2.1.0, or 2.2.0

  • VirusScan Enterprise for Storage 1.3.0

    Note: When using VirusScan Enterprise for Storage 1.2.0, if you would like to retain your configured policies, you must first upgrade your Trellix ePO - On-prem extensions and policies to VirusScan Enterprise for Storage 1.3.0.149 before migrating to Trellix Endpoint Security Storage Protection 2.3.x.

  • VirusScan Enterprise 8.8.0 or later

Note: Trellix Endpoint Security Storage Protection releases require that Endpoint Security modules on scan servers be updated to the corresponding minimum version. For the complete list of system requirements, see supported platforms for Trellix Endpoint Security Storage Protection (KB94811).

Scan response time on files is now reduced.

Storage Protection debug log now grows to the limit defined in the Endpoint Security Common policy.
