Generate a custom Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) 26.x installation package with Endpoint Upgrade Assistant Package Creator

Use Endpoint Upgrade Assistant Package Creator to generate custom installation packages when upgrading other products with Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) 26.x. You can deploy the custom packages with ePO - On-prem or a third-party tool. Package Creator requires Endpoint Upgrade Assistant.

  1. Open Package Creator, specify the product modules to install, then click Next.

    1. Specify the locations of the installers for Trellix ENS.

      This installs the required modules: Threat Prevention, Adaptive Threat Protection (if selected), and Endpoint Security Platform (Common).

    2. Select other Trellix ENS modules to install, as needed.

      Best practice: For optimal performance and protection, install the same version of the Trellix ENS modules or upgrade all modules to the latest version. All Trellix ENS modules installed or upgraded on a system should originate from the same source package, avoiding a mix and match of installed module versions.

    3. Select updates to install for Trellix ENS and Adaptive Threat Protection, as needed.

  2. Specify other Trellix products to install, then click Next.

    1. Specify the location of the installation package for Trellix Agent, called a frame package (FramePkg.exe).

    2. Select whether to upgrade versions of Trellix Agent that are compatible with Trellix ENS.

    3. Specify the locations of the installers for optional Trellix products to install.

  3. Select package deployment options, then click Next.

    1. Select the type of product installer to generate:

      • A package (.zip) file to deploy with ePO - On-prem.

      • An executable application to install with third-party tools: specify the name and location for the installer.

    2. (Optional) Specify a custom location for the log files created on the endpoint where you run Package Creator and the endpoints where you deploy the installer.

    3. (Optional) Specify a later version of SysPrep to install.

    4. (Optional) Select command-line options to use.

  4. (Optional) In the upper-left corner of Package Creator, right-click the Trellix icon, then select Advanced to display additional options.

    • Under Trellix Agent, enter Trellix Agent command-line options to use, if needed.

    • Under Select package deployment method, enter a unique package code, if needed. This lets you generate multiple custom installation packages that can all be checked in to the same repository at the same time.

  5. Verify that you've specified the correct information, then click Create.

The custom installation package is ready to deploy.
