You can install Trellix Agent 5.8.x in VDI mode on a non-persistent virtual image by using the installation package. This avoids the duplication of the GUID.
On the ePO - On-prem console, select → → , then select New Systems.
Select Create and download agent installation package.
Select the appropriate Agent version for Windows from the list.
Deselect Embed Credentials in Package checkbox to receive the default package.
You can specify the embedded credentials only for Agent Embedded package for Windows.
Assign a specific Agent Handler to communicate with ePO - On-prem for deployment:
All Agent Handlers: Randomly select an Agent Handler to communicate with ePO - On-prem.
Select Agent Handler: Select an Agent handler (primary) from the list.
Optionally, if the agents are unable to communicate with the primary agent handler, select Secondary Agent Handler.
Click OK.
The installation package file
FramePkg.exeis created.Right-click and save the file.
Copy the installer file on the virtual image.
Run the following command to install Trellix Agent in VDI mode using the installation package file.
framepkg.exe /Install=agent /enableVDImodeTo verify if Trellix Agent is installed in VDI mode, select → → , then select the system.
The System Information page displays the properties of the client system reported by Trellix Agent. The value of the system property VDI should be Yes.
