Install Trellix EDR client on macOS system using the product installer

Note

When installing Trellix EDR client on macOS endpoints, the endpoint user is prompted with pop-ups to grant permission for TrellixSystemExtensions on the general tab from the security and privacy page. Also, you must allow full disk access for TrellixSystemExtensions and fmpd on the privacy tab.

1. Download the Trellix EDR client package from the Trellix Product Downloads site.

2. Open the package file MVISION_EDR_client_package_OSX_<version>_<build>.zip.

3. Run Chmod -R 777 MVISION_EDR_client_package_OSX_<version>_<build>_xxx.zip to add permission to file MVISION_EDR_client_package in folder MVISION_EDR_client_package_OSX_<version>_<build>_xxx > Client.

4. Extract MVISION_EDR_client_package to /Users/<username>/Downloads/edr/client.

5. Change directory to /Users/<username>/Downloads/ and run chmod -R 777 edr.

6. Change directory to /Users/<username>/Downloads/edr/client/MVISION_EDR_client_packages/ and run sudo installer -pkg ./MVEDR_x64.pkg -target /.

   Verify /var/log/MVEDR-Client-Install-xxxxxxxxx.log to see the successful installation.

7. Run sudo launchctl list |grep mfemvedr or ps -aux | grep mfemvedr to verify the Trellix EDR process is running on the system as an administrator.
