The Direct Attached Storage (DAS) is an add-on device to Trellix ESM, Trellix ESM - ELM, or Trellix ESM - ELS and increases data storage capacity.

If you are replacing an existing DAS, turn off the host appliance (Trellix ESM, Trellix ESM - ELM, or Trellix ESM - ELS) following the normal shutdown procedure.
The Green power lights will turn off after the shutdown procedure.
Power down the DAS using the power button, then unplug the power (3) and the Mini SAS HD ports (2).
Failure to follow this power down sequence might cause data corruption or data loss.
Note
Keep track of which part the Mini SAS HD ports are plugged into as they need to plugged into the same spots on the new DAS appliance.
Pull DAS appliance from the rack and install the new DAS appliance in the rack.
Connect the Mini SAS DAS cables to the RAID card ports.
Connect the other ends of the cables to the DAS appliance.
Note
Ensure the cable is attached from Mini SAS HD port 1 of Trellix ESM appliance to Mini SAS HD port 1 of DAS.
Plug in the power (3).
Caution
Do not plug into any other ports unless directed by support.
Turn on the Trellix Direct Attached Storage appliance and wait 10 minutes.
Turn on the host appliance (Trellix ESM, Trellix ESM - ELM, or Trellix ESM - ELS).
Verify that the DAS is communicating with the host appliance by running the command:
df –h.
The host appliance begins storing data on the DAS.
