Test the Firewall feature

Test the Firewall feature by creating a rule. Consider a scenario where you want to create an allow rule for www.trellix.com.

Task

  1. Click the Trellix menulet GUID-9BE2692D-7F54-44CB-AE3B-3D141955024E-low.png on the status bar, then select Preferences.

  2. Click Firewall.

  3. Click GUID-8CC2C84C-B44D-4B10-A920-D4E503DB9CC1-low.png, type the administrator password, then click OK.

  4. Click GUID-5CDA459E-EA22-4BE1-BE9B-11D2906C8F3A-low.png in the bottom left corner of the console to create a firewall rule.

    1. Type a name of the rule in the Rule Name text box.

    2. Select Enabled from the Status drop-down list.

    3. Select Allow from the Action drop-down list.

    4. Select Outgoing from the Direction drop-down list.

  5. In the Network Protocol (IPv4/IPv6), section:

    1. Select Any Local IP Address for Local.

    2. Click GUID-09C990E9-F9C1-4BFE-BE76-7F30DF2F9A54-low.png, select Fully Qualified Domain Name for Remote, then type the Domain Name.

  6. In the Transport Protocol section, select All Protocols.

  7. Open the browser, type the website name, then press return.
