Upgrading Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) for Mac (Standalone and Managed Mac)

You can upgrade the software and migrate the existing configuration settings.

Before you begin

Before upgrading the software, make sure that your system meets all requirements.

Task

  1. Install the software using the wizard.

    For more information, see Install the software using wizard.

  2. Make sure that all existing preferences are migrated to the new version.

    Note

    By default, Threat Prevention and Adaptive Threat Protection are installed in async mode. When you upgrade Threat Prevention on a standalone system, the system running in kext mode is switched to sync mode and system running in kextless mode is switched to async mode.

Note

The release only supports upgrading the software from Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) for Mac for 10.7.9 or later.

Trellix Agent 5.8.4 is the minimum supported version for Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) for Mac 26.x. Before upgrading the Trellix Endpoint Security (ENS) for Mac, you must first upgrade Trellix Agent.

When you upgrade the software, the respective existing preferences are migrated according to the module you select. For example:

Note

When you upgrade the software, the firewall client rules added from the local user interface will not be migrated. You have to re-create these rules.
