Malware protection is resilient against corrupted content updates. When corrupt content is downloaded onto the host, Endpoint Security (HX) xAgent automatically reverts to the last stable version of the content. Subsequent attempts to download the corrupted content are rejected.
If the corrupt content is downloaded immediately after installation of the xAgent software, malware protection will not load that content, and will instead wait for the next content update.
To validate updated content in malware protection:
Run Process Explorer as an administrator, and look for
xagt.exe.In the toolbar, select Load DLLs.
Ensure that updated version numbers appear in the paths for
mgcore.dllandbdcore.dll.
