Adding the Packet Capture appliances through the NDR Web UI pairs the PX appliances with your NDR appliance. Pairing a Packet Capture appliance with your NDR appliance configures the Packet Capture appliance as a metadata source of your NDR appliance.

To add a PX series appliance to your NDR appliance:

  1. Log in to the NDR Web UI.

  2. Navigate to MANAGE > Configure System > Packet Capture Metadata.

  3. Click ADD Packet Capture in the upper-right corner of the page.

  4. To configure the Packet Capture setup:

    1. Enter the Packet Capture appliance IP address.

    2. Set the Packet Capture appliance Source Directory and Timeout values.

By default, the source directory is set to data. The default timeout value is set to 5 seconds.

    3. Click NEXT.

  5. To authenticate the pairing of the specified Packet Capture appliance with your NDR appliance:

    1. Enter the Packet Capture admin credentials in the user name and password fields.

    2. Click LOGIN & PAIR.

  6. In the Metadata Selection page, select the Packet Capture protocols whose metadata is received by your NDR appliance.

By default, all the supported protocols are selected.

  7. Click Update.

After you pair a Packet Capture appliance with your NDR appliance, you need to generate the SSH keys in your NDR appliance and transfer them to all the paired Packet Capture appliances. See Generating and transferring SSH keys .
