This section describes how to configure the message logging level for Helix Enterprise as a syslog server.
Although logging can be set to send all log messages to the Helix Enterprise syslog server, there are two specific types of application-level log messages that Vormetric Transparent Encryption creates. These messages are specifically integrated into the Helix Enterprise ruleset that generate alerts:
Vormetric Denied: This message is created when events coming from Vormetric indicate that access has been denied, if you have set the logging level of “Error” within Vormetric DSM.
Vormetric Faked: This message is created when events coming from Vormetric indicate that someone may be trying to fake an identity, if you've set a logging level of “Info” within Vormetric DSM.
Configuring the Vormetric DSM to log these messages can be done at the system level via templates that apply to all agents, or at the domain level via a specific host within a domain.
For ease of configuration and usage, it is recommended that you configure at the system level via a template that applies to all agents.
