Enabling the HelixConnect Client

Prev Next

Perform the following steps to enable the HelixConnect Client on a Trellix appliance and ensure that the functionality it offers is enabled.

  1. Allow access to the registration URL and HelixConnect tunnel.

    See HelixConnect Client network requirements.

  2. Make sure software requirements are met (see HelixConnect Client software requirements).

  3. If the HelixConnect tunnel is established through an HTTP proxy:

Use the helixconnect http-proxy command arguments on the appliance to configure the HTTP proxy host, port, authentication type, and authentication credentials. For details, see Configuring a HelixConnect HTTP proxy.

  4. Enable Trellix Helix mode on the appliance, if it is not already enabled.

To verify that it is enabled, use the show helix command. To enable it, use the helix mode on-premises or helix mode on-premises with-sso command. For details, see Enabling Helix mode.

  5. If the appliances are connected to a Trellix Helix-enabled Central Management System appliance: Verify that the Central Management System appliance cannot stream alerts to Trellix Helix and that the connected appliances can stream alerts to Trellix Helix. Otherwise, you will be unable to manage alerts from the appliances using the Trellix Helix Web UI. For instructions, see Sending alerts and health stats directly from appliances.
