This section assumes that a master node is configured and is in operation. Expanding an NDR deployment can involve adding new nodes to a single node cluster or adding new nodes to a multinode cluster.
Adding nodes to a single-node NDR cluster
If you are expanding a single node NDR cluster, the existing node becomes the cluster master. To prepare a single-node cluster for this role, you must create and install a master node and configure the master firewall to allow communication with data nodes.

Adding nodes to a multinode NDR cluster
To expand a multinode NDR cluster, you need the cluster name and the master node IP address to create configurations for each new data node. You must configure the master node for further expansion, as discussed in the previous topic.
After you configure the master node, you can configure new data nodes and add them to the cluster. To add data nodes, you must create, install, and configure firewall settings for each data node.
