This section describes how to install a virtual NDR Console on Microsoft Hyper-V running on either Windows 2019, 2022 or 2025 Servers.
Note
Make sure you have met the Hyper-V installation requirements before you start the virtual NDR Console installation Microsoft on Hyper-V. For detailed information, see the Hyper-V prerequisites.
Create a virtual machine that meets the requirements listed in Hyper-V prerequisites.
Copy the NDR
.isoimage to the Windows Server where Hyper-V is running.Open Hyper-V Manager from the Start menu.
Right-click your host machine and select New > Virtual Machine.
Follow the wizard.
Enter a name and location for the VM, click Next.
Choose a generation for this virtual machine - generation 1, click Next.
Configure the virtual machine memory (64 GB) and then click Next.
Select the virtual machine management interface to access NDR Console, click Next.
Configure the following paramaters to connect to the virtual machine hard disk for the NDR Console OS installation.
Type the disk name.
Select the location where you want the NDR Console OS to be installed.
Configure the NDR Console OS disk size -120 GB.
Click Next.
Choose the Install an operating system from a bootable CD/DVD-ROM option.
Choose the Image file (.iso) option.
Click Browse and select the NDR Console iso image that you downloaded and then click Next.
Read through the summary and then click Finish.
From the list of virtual machines, click NDR Console VM > Settings.
Enter the required number of virtual processors in the Number of virtual processor field.
Tip
The maximum supported number of virtual processors is 16.
To add additional hard disk for data storage:
Click IDE Controller , select Hard Drive >Add.
Click New > VHDX and then click Next.
Choose Fixed size and then click Next.
Specify the hard disk file name and location, click Next.
Specify the hard disk size as 200 GB and then click Next.
Click Finish.
Select Physical Hard Disk, click Next.
Click Finish.
(Optional) If NDR Console is used as Master/Slave node, add the following additional interface details.
Click Add Hardware and select Network Adapter.
Select the virtual switch and then click Apply.
Start the VM.
Perform the initial configuration as described in Performing the initial NDR Console configuration .
