SmartVision is supported on specific Network Security appliance models:
SmartVision edition appliances
A SmartVision Edition appliance is a Network Security appliance that has the SmartVision feature enabled license and is installed in a Trellix MVX environment.
The SmartVision feature is available for the following hardware and virtual Network Security appliances with release 8.1.2 or newer:
NX 2500
NX 2550V
NX 5500
NX 6500
NX 6500V
NX 8600
SmartVision appliances can be managed by Central Management System appliances with release 8.2.2 or newer.
Classic edition appliances
You can enable SmartVision features on specific models of Network Security Classic edition appliances that are installed in a TrellixMVX deployment. Supported models include both integrated appliances and sensor mode devices.
SmartVision-capable Network Security sensors
A Network Security sensor is a Classic edition Network Security appliance that does not have an onboard MVX analysis engine. It is installed in a TrellixMVX environment and submits suspect objects to a remote MVX engine for detonation and analysis.
The following Network Security sensors can be configured to support the SmartVision feature:
NX 2500V / NX 2501V
NX 4500V
NX 2550V
NX 6500V
Appliance model numbers in bold font are also available as SmartVision Edition appliances.
SmartVision-enabled Network Security sensors can be managed by Central Management System appliances with release 8.0.0 or newer.
SmartVision-capable Network Security integrated appliances
The feature is supported on all NX x400 and x500 appliances.
SmartVision Edition is supported on NX 2500, NX 5500, and NX 6500 hardware appliances and NX 2550v and NX 6500v virtual appliances.
SmartVision-enabled Network Security integrated appliances can be managed by Central Management System appliances with release 8.0.0 or newer.
Average and recommended EPS on Classic edition appliances
Before you deploy a SmartVision appliance to a production environment, make sure that the average events per second (EPS) measured on the appliance does not exceed the recommended maximum EPS.
