The Web UI

The appliance Web UI provides a secure HTTPS connection for configuring the appliance. The Web UI functions you have access to depend on the privileges granted by your role.

You access the Web UI by entering the management port's IP address or hostname into a Web browser using HTTPS. The IP address and hostname are set during the initial configuration of the appliance. The hostname must be resolved by a DNS server if you use it to access the Web UI.

HTTP Strict-Transport-Security (HSTS) is also enforced on the NDR Web UI. The appliance can now send a 'Strict-Transport-Security' header to a browser. On receiving the header, your browser will connect to the HTTPS site without unencrypted traffic.

Operating systems and browser support for Web UI

Use a recent version of one the following browsers on the system from which you will access the Web UI:

  • Microsoft Edge

  • Firefox

  • Google Chrome

  • Safari

Logging into the Web UI

  1. Open a Web browser and enter https://appliance in the address line, where appliance is the IP address or hostname of the appliance. For example, if the configured IP address of the appliance is 10.1.0.1, enter https://10.1.0.1. The IP address is configured during the initial start up. See Initial Configuration .

  2. Click Proceed to continue past a warning that appears the first time that you access the NDR Web UI.

  3. On the login page, enter the user name. The default user name is npadmin. Enter the password that was set in the initial configuration.
