A client-side component of Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (On-prem and SaaS) that provides secure communication between Trellix ePO and managed products. In addition to downloading and enforcing policies, Trellix Agent performs client-side tasks such as deploying and updating endpoint products. In order to manage an endpoint with Trellix ePO, Trellix Agent must be installed on each system in your network.
Trellix Agent functionality includes:
Communicate periodically with Trellix ePO, also known as Agent-server communication to send events and ensure that all client system settings are updated.
Download all product policies from the Trellix ePO server and assign them to the appropriate products installed on the client.
Download all client tasks from the Trellix ePO server and send them to the appropriate client products.
Deploy product upgrades, new products, patches and hotfixes, and to uninstall products as well.
Automatically upgrades itself when a new version is released.
Gathers information and events from managed systems and sends them to the Trellix ePO server.
Manages policies and tasks on managed systems and sends events back to the Trellix ePO server.
