At a specified interval, the agent establishes a secure connection with the server and downloads the latest configuration. See for information about how this polling frequency interacts with the system information polling frequency. The xAgent configuration file update frequency can be set the Web UI and the API.
Valid values for the configuration update frequency range from 60 to 86400 seconds (one minute to one day). The xAgent configuration file update frequency distributed with the Endpoint Security (HX) xAgent software is 900 seconds (15 minutes).

Configuring the xAgent configuration file update frequency for all endpoints
To configure the agent configuration file update frequency for all host endpoints:

Click Reset to defaults to revert the agent configuration file update frequency to the default setting.
Log in to the Web UI as an administrator.
From the Admin menu, select Policies to access the Policies page.
From the Policies table, click the Agent Default Policy link to go to the Edit Policy page.
Select the Polling tab.

In the Poll for agent config: fields, enter the agent configuration file request frequency (hours, minutes, and seconds). Valid values range from 300 to 604800 seconds (five minutes to seven days). The default is 900 seconds (15 minutes).

Click Save.

To configure the xAgent configuration file update frequency for selected host sets:

Log in to the Web UI as an administrator.
From the Admin menu, select Policies to access the Policies page.
In the Policies table, click the link for the custom policy you want to modify.
Select the Polling tab.
In the Poll for agent config: fields, enter the agent configuration file request frequency (hours, minutes, and seconds). Valid values range from 300 to 604800 seconds (five minutes to seven days). The default is 900 seconds (15 minutes).
Click Save.

Click Reset to defaults to revert the full poll interval to the default setting.
