Install Trellix Agent 5.8.x on unmanaged Macintosh systems

Install Trellix Agent 5.8.x on Macintosh systems that are not managed by ePO - On-prem by creating an Agent installation package. You must manually install the DXL client while installing Trellix Agent in unmanaged mode on Macintosh system.

You must have root permissions to install Trellix Agent on the client system.

  1. Download Trellix Agent installation package MAxxxMAC.zip for Macintosh from the Software Catalog on ePO - On-prem.

  2. Extract the following installer files to the client system.

    • MFEma.x86_64.dmg

    • DXL.zip file which contains the following installer files.

      • MFEdx-ma-<build_number>.i686.pkg

      • MFEdx-ma-<build_number>.x86_64.pkg

    Note

    Use the appropriate MFEma and MFEdx-ma-<build_number> packages based on the operating systems used. For example:

    • MFEdx-ma-<build_number>.x86_64.pkg for a 64-bit operating system

    • MFEdx-ma-<build_number>.i686.pkg for a 32-bit operating system.

  3. Navigate to the location where you have extracted the files and double-click the MFEma.x86_64.dmg package to install Trellix Agent.

    To install the DXL client, double-click the appropriate MFEdx-ma-<build_number> package based on the operating system.
