You can manually install Trellix Agent 5.8.x on Macintosh systems by creating an Agent installation package from the ePO - On-prem console. If you want the endpoint users (with local administrator rights) to install Trellix Agent on their own systems, distribute the installation package file to them through email or shared network.
On the console, select → → .
Obtain the Trellix Agent installation file by executing one of the following:
Creating an installation package:
Click New Systems.
Select Create and download agent installation package.
Select the appropriate Trellix Agent version for Macintosh from the list.
Click OK. The agentPackages.zip installation package containing
install.shfile is created.Save the file.
Copy the
install.shfile directly from ePO - On-prem. The path includes the name of the selected repository. For example, if checked in to the current branch of the ePO on-prem software repository, the path of the required files is,For 5.10.0 Service Pack 1 or later, the default location of the installation package file is: C:\Program Files\Trellix\ePolicy Orchestrator\DB\Software\Current\EPOAGENT3700MACX\Install\0409.
For 5.10.0 or earlier, the default location of this installation package file is: C:\Program Files\McAfee\ePolicy Orchestrator\DB\Software\Current\EPOAGENT3700MACX\Install\0409.
Open Terminal, then enter the path where you have saved the
install.shfile.Run the following commands, giving root credentials when requested:
sudo chmod +x install.sh sudo ./install.sh -i
