Install Trellix Agent 5.8.x on Linux (Debian or RPM package) and Macintosh systems that are not managed by ePO - On-prem using the install_upd.sh script. This option is available only on ePO - On-prem 5.6.4 and later versions. When Trellix Agent is installed in unmanaged mode, the DXL client is automatically installed and in an idle state.
You must have administrator rights to install Trellix Agent on the client system.
Download Trellix Agent installation package MAxxxLNX.zip for Linux and MAxxxMAC.zip for Macintosh from the Software Catalog on ePO - On-prem.
Extract the package to a temporary location and copy install_upd.sh to the client system.
Open Terminal, then enter the path where you have copied the script file.
Run the following command by giving root credentials when requested.
sudo chmod +x install_upd.sh sudo ./install_upd.sh -i
