What's new in Trellix Agent 5.8.3

Enhancements

  • The MsgBusCertUpdater package is updated with new certificates to ensure compatibility with Trellix point products and services. For more details, see KB14338.

  • Trellix Agent now displays detailed information for point products. This information is accessible only to root users on non-Windows systems. On Windows systems, you must enable the about-box feature in the general policy to access it. For more information, see cmdagent /i command.

  • Starting with version 5.8.3, Trellix Agent displays the value of the OS Edition field from ePO - On-prem to improve OS discovery capabilities.

    Note

    You must enable the OS Edition checkbox under the Extended Computer Properties category on the Server Settings page of ePO - On-prem.

  • Enhanced support for IPv6.

  • Upgraded to OpenSSL-1.0.2zj and LibCurl version to 8.9.1. For details, see KB96878.

  • Trellix Agent 5.8.3 introduces Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) support for user-based policies in ePO SaaS.

  • Starting with version 5.8.3, you can create deployment URLs in ePO SaaS to install Trellix Agent from both previous and monthly branches. See Smart Installer URL on Trellix ePO SaaS.

Updated platform, environment, or operating system support

  • The newly supported platforms compatible with ARM processors are:

    • RPM-based Linux systems (ARM AWS Graviton) — RHEL ARM 8.9, RHEL ARM 9.4, Amazon Linux 2 ARM and Amazon Linux 2023 ARM.

    • Windows systems (ARM) — Windows 11 version 24H2 (running in emulation mode).
