Web UI policies page

Prev Next

The Endpoint Security (HX) Server Web UI Policies page allows you to create and manage all of your xAgent policies directly from the Policies table. This table provides a list of all of the policies you created using the Web UI and the API, including custom policies, migrated exclusion and exception policies, and the xAgent Default Policy.

The Policies page also includes a Policy Details panel, which provides more information about each listed policy. See Policy Details for more information.

Policies table

The policies table allows you to view specific information about all of your xAgent policies, including the policy priority level, policy name, status, creation and last modified time frame, and policy description. Each row in the Policies table also provides access to specific actions you can perform, including editing, disabling, and deleting a policy.

Policy details

The Policy Details panel provides a detailed summary for each policy listed on the Policies page. You can access the Policy Details panel from the Policies page or from the Assign Policies to Host sets page. Each page allows you to view the policy details from a different perspective.

When you access the Policy Details panel directly from the Policies page, you can view details about a policy independent of any other policy. The policy summary contains the following information: a unique policy ID, policy name, policy description if provided, assigned host sets, policy categories, and configuration settings for each policy category assigned to the policy.

When you access the Policy Details panel from the Assign Policies to Host Sets page, you will see details about the Composite Policy, which is a simulated view of all the xAgent policies assigned to the selected host set and how configuration settings from each policy category are applied. This view allows you to see exactly how multiple policy assignments and the settings from each assigned policy define the configuration for xAgent s running on your host sets.

The Policy Categories section allows you to drill down into each policy category that comprises the Composite Policy. Use this section to identify the default policy settings, custom policy settings, and migrated policy settings that define the composite policy.

The example below summarizes the Composite Policy for All macOS Hosts. This host set has the default policy, the xAgent Logging policy, and the Detection policy assigned to it. In this view, you can see that the proxy policy is defined by the xAgent default policy while the Resource Use policy is defined by the xAgent Logging policy and the default policy.
