This section describes how to install a NDR Console KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine). You can install on either Ubuntu or CentOS.

Note

This procedure covers the basic steps for installing a virtual NDR Console appliance on KVM. For detailed information, see the KVM documentation.

See Example: Installing a virtual appliance on KVM using virt-manager for an example deployment.

To install a virtual NDR Console on KVM:
  1. Create a virtual machine that meets the requirements listed in KVM prerequisites.

  2. Put the IA-live-4.0.0.59920.iso file in a storage pool on the KVM host. For example, put the file in the /var/lib/libvirt/images directory.

  3. Connect the .iso image to the virtual machine.

  4. Configure the virtual machine to boot from the .iso image.

  5. Start the virtual machine.

  6. Configure the virtual machine with the values listed in Virtual machine requirements.

  7. Configure the management and capture interfaces in the virtual network.

  8. Perform the initial configuration as described in Performing the initial NDR Console configuration .
