(This topic is applicable to both DLP-CSA-B and DLP-CSA-A models.) Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array ships on a JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) storage system. Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array integrates with Trellix DLP 8800, Trellix DLP 7700, or Trellix DLP 6600 appliance to provide additional storage space required for using the DLP Capture feature. Prepare the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array for deployment and integration with the Trellix DLP Network appliance.
Caution
Read this guide for the step-by-step instructions before setting up the hardware. Don't connect to the power sources until the hardware installation is complete as both the appliance and Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array are set to ON by default when the power sources are connected. Also, don't turn on the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array until the appliance is set up.

Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (DLP-CSA-B) or Identify the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array back panel (DLP-CSA-A)).
Applicable to Trellix DLP 8800 appliance:
Prepare the Trellix DLP 8800 appliance for use with Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array.
Identify the RAID controller connections and RAID backup unit (Identify the RAID controller connections (Set B) or (Identify the RAID controller connections (Set A)).
The Trellix DLP 8800 appliance doesn't use an internal backup unit (super capacitor). Install the backup unit for the DLP Capture RAID controller using the single tier backup unit to protect the RAID cache if there is a power outage.
Install the RAID backup unit inside Trellix DLP 8800 appliance.
Install the RAID controller inside Trellix DLP 8800 appliance.
Connect the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array to the Trellix DLP 8800 appliance after installing the boxes in the racks.

Prepare the Trellix DLP 6600 appliance for use with Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array.
Identify the RAID controller connections and RAID backup unit (Identify the RAID controller connections (Set A)).
The Trellix DLP 6600 appliance is installed with a single tier backup unit (super capacitor), by default. Replace the single tier backup unit with the double tier backup unit.
Install the RAID controller inside Trellix DLP 6600 appliance.
Install the RAID backup unit inside Trellix DLP 6600 appliance.
Connect the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array to the Trellix DLP 6600 appliance after installing the boxes in the racks.

Connect the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array power cords to the power sources. The Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array ships with two AC power cords specific to your country or region. Turn on the Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array.
Connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to the appliance. Connect the appliance.
Connect the appliance power cords. The appliance ships with two AC power cords specific to your country or region. Turn on the appliance.
(Optional) Install the fiber SFP NIC.
Reinstall the appliance software when you connect a capture storage disk to an existing appliance. The Trellix DLP Capture Storage Array is not recognized until the appliance software is reinstalled.
