Deploy security products for validation

ePO - SaaS facilitates the deployment of multiple security products using an installation URL. This URL contains the Smart Installer package. By default, Trellix Agent is included in this package and it is installed first on the endpoints. After the installation, Agent communicates with ePO - SaaS and downloads the product software that you have selected while creating the installation URL.

Review the suitability of default security policy to your organization. To know more about the policies, see the corresponding product guide.

  1. Select MenuSoftwareProduct Deployment to open the Install Products page.

  2. Enter the System Tree group name.

    You can find this group within the System Tree.

  3. Select an operating system from the Platform drop-down list.

  4. Select Endpoint Protection Software.

    By default Trellix the set of products based on the purchase. You can select another product depending on your organization's requirements.

  5. Select Software is automatically updated to the latest version under Advanced Options.

    Your environment is automatically updated with the latest version of software.

    Note

    You can deselect this option to manually control the version updates.

  6. Click Save.

    A dialog box appears with the installation URL.

  7. Click an option to select:

    • Download Installer.

    • Copy URL to Clipboard.

  8. Click Close.

    The System Tree is displayed.

  9. Run the Trellix Smart Installer in the systems to be managed, otherwise send Smart Installer URL to your users via email.

  10. Download TrellixSmartInstall.exe using the URL and run the installer based on their operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).

ePO - SaaS adds the system to the specified group under My Organization in the System Tree. The system appears in the System Tree as Managed.

  1. Verify the endpoints are being managed by ePO - SaaS.

  2. Review and use the security product's default policies if they meet your organization's requirements. Otherwise, configure the security policies as needed and enforce them to the endpoints. To know more about the policy settings, see the corresponding product guide.
