tacacs-server retransmit

Specifies a global value for the number of times an appliance will retransmit a request to authenticate with a TACACS+ server configured on an appliance before the request fails. The default is 1. If you specify 0, no retransmit attempts will be made. This number applies to all new TACACS+ servers configured on an appliance and becomes the new default value.

Note

This number is not used for a specific TACACS+ server if another number is configured using the tacacs-server host <ip address> retransmit <retries> command.

Syntax

[no] tacacs server retransmit <retries>

Parameters

no

Use the no form of this command to reset the default value.

retries

Specify the number of retry attempts. Valid values are 0-5. The default is 1.

Examples

The following example specifies that authentication requests should be retried three times before failing.

hostname (config) # tacacs-server retransmit 3

The following example resets the default retransmit value (1).

hostname (config) # no tacacs-server retransmit
