tacacs-server host <ip address> retransmit

Specifies the number of times the appliance will transmit a request to authenticate with the specified TACACS+ server before the request fails. The default is 1. If you specify 0, no retransmit attempts will be made.

Note

This command overrides the global number configured with the tacacs-server retransmit command.

Syntax

tacacs server host <ip address> retransmit <retries>

Parameters

ip address

Specify the IPv4 address of the TACACS+ server.

retries

Specify the number of retry attempts. Valid values are 0-5. The default is 1.

Examples

The following example specifies that authentication requests to the specified TACACS+ server should be retried two times before failing.

hostname (config) # tacacs-server host 172.16.1.1 retransmit 2

The following example disables retry attempts on the specified TACACS+ server.

hostname (config) # tacacs-server host 172.16.1.1 retransmit 0
