tacacs-server timeout

Specifies a global value for the number of seconds before retransmitting a request that previously failed to a TACACS+ server configured on an appliance. The number applies to all new TACACS+ servers configured on an appliance and becomes the new default value.

Note

This number is not used for a specific TACACS+ server if another number is configured using the tacacs-server host <ip address> timeout <seconds> command.

Syntax

[no] tacacs server timeout <seconds>

Parameters

no

Use the no form of this command to reset the default value.

seconds

Specify the number of seconds to wait before retransmitting a request that previously timed out. Valid values are 1–60. The default is 3.

Examples

The following example sets a 10-second global timeout value.

hostname (config) # tacacs-server timeout 10

The following example resets the default value (3).

hostname (config) # no tacacs-server timeout
